Our guides are all local Scottish people that between them have over 100 years experience. With a vast array of knowledge of Scotland if you have a question make sure to ask your guide and they will be happy to help.
A Unique Experience
Having a private guide leads to a unique experience for each traveler. Everybody has different travel plans and we are here to accommodate your needs. If you want to see specific sights or go at your own pace, we provide this service.
Sustainability
Here at Edinburgh Tour Guides we are conscious of our environmental impact. Scotland prides itself on using renewable energy. To ensure we are environmentally friendly, we plant trees with Trees For Life for every multi-day tour carried out.
Clan Thomson
We are family-run company, run by the Thomson clan. In 1822 George IV visited Edinburgh to visit his "New Town". He was encouraged by Sir Walter Scott to wear the traditional highland dress and thus Clan Tartans were born. The Thomson/Mactavish Clan has may traditional Tartans.
